Eleventh annual Vassar College Modfest to celebrate the performing, visual, and literary arts of the 20th and 21st centuries on the Vassar campus, January 24 – February 8, 2013

Modfest, now in its eleventh year, is Vassar College's exploration of the arts in the 20th and 21st centuries. Dance, drama, visual art, film, literature, poetry, and music will be celebrated in a series of events taking place across campus from January 24 to February 8. Participants in Modfest 2013 include Vassar students, faculty, alumnae/i, and guest artists, as well as students from the Poughkeepsie area schools.


This fall Vassar's Department of Dance presents three public programs, including a performance by Jane Comfort and Company, a lecture by Alastair Macaulay, and a panel discussion with Merrill Brockway about his "Dance in America" series.

This fall the Vassar Department of Dance presents a series of free public programs, including a performance by the internationally renowned Jane Comfort and Company (9/2), a lecture by the New York Times’ chief dance critic Alastair Macaulay (9/21), as well as a panel discussion with Merrill Brockway, producer/director of PBS’s “Dance in America” series, and dancers Merrill Ashley, Tom Gold, and Peggy Lyman Hayes (11/7).
